The Taste Difference In Free Range Eggs

Jul 12th, 2011 by admin

The taste of free range eggs and regular eggs is different. Many of you are probably reading this and wondering what a free range egg is. A free range egg is an egg that comes from a chicken that was not confined to a cage. Free range chickens are allowed to roam around and eat more food. On the other hand, confined chickens are only fed grain which produces a less nutritious egg. Free range chickens consume grass, bugs, and any other food they find while scavenging. This variety of food creates better quality and better tasting eggs.
The overall appearance of the yolk of a free range egg differs from a regular one. Since the chickens eat more grass, the yolk has a richer color. Confined grain fed chicken eggs has a paler yellow coloring. Free range chicken also has more nutritious eggs. Since the free range chicken eggs are more nutritious we can benefit more from them. Eating a filling and nutritious diet is very important to leading a healthy life. If someone wants to get more out of eating an egg, free range eggs are the way to go.
The taste of a free range egg has more flavor and a richer texture. Many say that the egg has more depth and density and isn’t bland like the other eggs. Grain fed eggs have no depth to them and have a watered down taste that lacks in nutritious value. When you eat something you want the best quality with the best flavor. The whole point of eating is to experience the best flavors possible. The taste difference is very obvious when you have eaten both. Free range eggs are the way to go if you want a more delicious egg with more flavor, texture and nutrition benefits.
